Astronomy Photographer Contest

In order to improve the level of astronomy observation and astrophotography for astronomy enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts, stimulate the imagination and creativity of the public, and let the public experience the beauty of the stars, universe and science better, Beijing Planetarium has hosted the "Astronomy Photographer Contest" since 2019, striving to make it the highest level and the most influential astronomy photographer contest in China. In 2019, we received 465 pictures from 146 photographers. After grading by a jury composed of 9 experts, 110 high-level pictures from 52 photographers entered the final round. Finally, one champion, one runner up and one third place in each theme were elected, as well as one champion of this contest. Some of the pictures have reached the world’s top level, and have a wide range of influence among the astronomical enthusiasts in China.
