The Celestial Globe was made in the eighth to twelfth year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1669-1673), under the supervision of the Belgian missionary Ferdinand Verbiest. This instrument weighs 3,850 kilograms and is 2.735 meters high. It is located on the top platform of Beijing Ancient Observatory. The Celestial Globe is used to show the celestial phenomena, you can know the actual stars in the sky at any time, whether it is day or night.
